Excellent, comprehensive

Got a copy of a prior edition and really liked how Prayson broke topics down. I even ran into some pictures that I swear I had seen in the Neurology RITE exam. So I ordered myself this book and really enjoyed reading it. It is up to date and includes the most recent 2010 WHO classification, and also includes an online version that you can access from anywhere.
This is, in my opinion, just the perfect level for any neurology resident interested in doing some reading in neuropathology

Admittedly I have only referenced select chapters of this book so far, and I have only limited experience with the Foundations series, but this is the best volume in that series that I have used so far.
The introductory chapter on histology is much appreciated. The text is well written and the photomicrographs are excellent. I have read the neuropathology chapter in Sternberg and it is a train wreck. Absolutely useless. But this book is easy to use and easy to understand. It presents all necessary material clearly and concisely. I have no doubt that it will more than adequately serve any pathology resident or practicing pathologist who needs to review any given neuro topic.
One thing that is absent from this book however is a description of recommended standard sections to take at autopsy. This would complement the introductory chapter nicely, or it could be added as an appendix to the end of the book. A simple table showing the authors recommended sections and a brief description of why each section is useful would be extremely helpful. Books on forensic and autopsy pathology sometimes include these but I think it would be appropriate for this book as well.

Praysons neuropathology

It covers all neuropathology aspects in an easy to read way. Other neuropathology books have similar information, but in general they are too long or boring. Besides it only have 600 pages, so I can take it everywhere or I can read it online with the code on the book's cover.
